Christian Louboutin redefined the world of shoes when he brought back stilettos in the ‘90s and now he’s made his mark on lipstick, too.
Just in time for fall, he launched a series of lip colour this month, Rouge Louboutin, available in sheer voile, silky satin, and velvet matte.
Each consistency has its own color wheel—literally, on the Louboutin website there is a wheel feature where you can explore each shade and find the perfect one for you.
Inspired by the Art Deco movement and Babylonian architecture, with its modern, angular aesthetic and breathtaking symmetry. (Can you tell I’m in love with it?) The vial shaped tube is sleek and luxurious: the crown-like silver cap has an intricate design for each lip texture, there’s a gold studded band in the middle, and a pointed, black base. The bases also differ between consistencies, each resembling their names—sheer voile has a shiny, scaled exterior; silky satin has a smooth, glossy outer; velvet matte is, of course, matte.
The most groundbreaking quality of this beauty product is that it doubles as jewelry. Never again do we have to endure the laborious task of digging through our bags, no more wasted time and frustrated sighs. Each Rogue Louboutin comes attached to a silk ribbon, transforming it into a beautiful, yet daring necklace. Not only is Rogue perfect for any pair of lips, but it is also the perfect accessory, day or night. (Especially night.)
With 38 shades to choose from, there’s no way you can go wrong with this lip color. Flirty pinks, rich purples, brilliant reds, and everything in between—Louboutin has thought of it all. He’s got you covered for every season, every occasion, and every mood.
Yeah, the lipstick looks good, but it feels good, too. It glides on with smooth precision, according to the Louboutin website, one coat is all you need. Natural oils give your lips a soft feel and prevent dryness, even with a matte finish. The best part? 4 hours of no-smear protection, music to every woman’s ears.
In his conquest to push women to embrace their femininity and sexuality, he created a lipstick full of allure and sophistication. And isn’t that everything you’d want from Louboutin?
